Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employee Relations Advisor to join the UK Employee Relations Team, shaping and delivering ER projects and change management programmes, across all areas of our business as well as developing our UK employment policy development and providing ER advisory support to our People team.

You will work with Leaders, People Partners and Employee Representatives to manage our UK Information & Consultation (I&C) obligations and our compliance to UK employment policy. You will manage the regular meetings, agenda and materials and work with stakeholders to ensure the right topics are being covered.  You will be responsible for preparing and issuing written materials for communication following UK meetings.  Additionally a key part of the role will be UK employment policy, with the upcoming changes in the employment rights bill amongst other things, a focus on our approach is needed.   You will work with People team stakeholders, internal and external lawyers and the wider UK Employee Relations team to deliver a defined programme of updates. You will also contribute to varied change activity across the UK alongside the ER team from simplification of our processes to ensuring compliance with our legal obligations and internal commitments.

What you will be doing:

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will work with people teams, business leaders and trade union stakeholders to deliver on the I&C requirements. Additionally lead on UK Policy updates

  • Coach leaders on messaging and content and key issues likely to be raised by the employee representatives
  • Review upcoming legislation, prepare papers and proposals on our approach and brief key stakeholders
  • Support people partners on ER issues
  • Support the ER change agenda working alongside ER team members and people partners

  • Experience of working with employee representatives across a breadth of ER topics.
  • A confident relationship builder, with advisory skills that are complimented with awareness of HR generalist issues.
  • Ability to operate independently and work collaboratively.
  • Experience of managing and leading projects and skilled at working within an Integrated Project Team environment.
  • Provide support on ER queries, considering the impact of ER on the wider HR and business change agenda and to operate with a pragmatic, commercial and results orientated approach.
  • Proven skills in influencing, with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through verbal and written communication to all levels in the organisation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, well organised and efficient.
